Helping Green County Elderly and Disabled Remain Independent

In a joint venture with United Way of Green County, Habitat for Humanity of Green County (HFHGC) for last four years, has made minor repairs and modifications to homes that, in turn allow eligible elderly and disabled persons to remain in their homes. HFHGC volunteers assess the situation, order the necessary materials, and provide the volunteers to do the actual work.  United Way pays for the materials.

Some of the beneficiaries of this service in 2007 received bathroom modifications, an entry ramps to their home and modifications to kitchen cabinets.
